Winter break has come and gone and a new semester is upon us. The semester has started, but it’s not too late to plan how to have a great semester! These are just some simple tips on how to make this semester the best one yet!
- Stay Organized!
I know this is easier said than done, but this semester could be the perfect one to really dedicate yourself to staying organized. Buy a planner, organize your clothes by color, color code your folders and things for separate classes. Things that don’t seem like they need to be organized probably do!
- Stay Healthy!
Make sure you’re taking care of your body! It’s so easy to eat Taco Bell every single day or drink energy drinks every single night to finish your assignments for the next day. But it’s not doing good things for your body! Drink orange juice, take your vitamins, work out a few times a week, keep up on your sleep, things that will keep you healthy. Nothing is worse than being sick and still having to go to classes.
- Balance Your Time!
It’s so easy to watch Netflix all day and never get to your homework, or other things you have to do. It’s important that even though cuddling in your bed with hot chocolate and Friends on Netflix sounds perfect, your school work is even more important. Make sure you study as much as you should for a class, and that you have enough time for your homework.
- Find the Best Study Method for You!
Studying is so important, and one of the worst things you can do in college is study the wrong way. Find a method that works for you, whether it’s flash cards, rewriting your notes, color coding your notes, creating your own study guides, studying with a partner, reading out loud, etc. Find something that works for you. It’s so important that you find a way to study so that you can do well in classes.
- Budget Your Money!
Let’s face it, we’re broke college students that spend way too much money on things we don’t necessarily need. That’s why it’s important to budget your money, or to attempt to. Give yourself a limit on how much you can spend in a week or a month, and stick within that limit.
- Join a club or an RSO!
This is an awesome way to get involved on campus and meet more people with the same interests as you. You can build friendships and have fun while you do it.
- Have Fun!
College is “the best years of your life,” so even though it’s extremely stressful sometimes, make sure you make the best out of the years you have here in college. The real world is right in front of our faces, and we should enjoy the free time that we have while we have it. Go out with your friends and have fun because these days are numbered. Sit in and binge watch Netflix on the weekends or go to a concert that you’ve always wanted to go to. Make sure you can look back on these years and have a good laugh and smile.
