As students, we spend 3+ glorious years in the classroom preparing for our careers.
If you’re like me, you might be familiar with that voice in the back of your mind that says, “How exactly am I going to handle this in the real world?”
Experience can teach you far beyond the 120 credit hours of a bachelor’s degree. Ferris State PR hopes to offer the opportunity of real world experience to students with the Client Relations team.
Client Relations is a student-managed public relations agency that serves Ferris students and the Big Rapids community. The team meets twice a week to work on press releases, social media campaigns, event planning, blog posts and other PR tactics for clients. In past years, Client Relations has worked with groups such as ArtWorks, Turn Up the Good, The Vagina Monologues, and Colleges Against Cancer.
This year the team is being led by VP of Client Relations, Tarah Bourke, “I got involved with Client Relations part way through my freshman year and found that it was a great learning experience. I wanted to pursue VP of Client Relations because I wanted to give other members an opportunity to learn and gain real world experience with clients.”
Tarah is excited about the new direction that Client Relations is taking this year. Her main goal is to encourage the members to deliver amazing work and to be excited about being part of the team.
Natalie Bycraft, a sophomore Client Relations member, joined Client Relations to prepare for her career after graduation. “I feel like when I graduate, I’ll be ready for the challenges of my job.”
