With the school year getting back into full swing, our 2013-2014 Executive Board is already eagerly planning events, getting clients and running our social media. We welcome our new E-Board and are confident that they will do a fantastic job in moving this organization forward.
Betsy Garbe, VP of Internal Relations
Betsy Garbe is a junior, majoring in Public Relations. Her position as VP of Internal Relations will allow Garbe to assist PRSSA members in providing fun and educational activities for the chapter. Some specific events are Festivus, Senior Sendoff and Agency Tours. Garbe currently works for the University Advancement and Marketing department, and this experience will help her tremendously with planning and promoting these events. This year she hopes to bring more fundraising events to the chapter, as well as a variety of educational events.
Kaitlyn Baase, VP of Chapter Development
Kaitlyn Baase is a junior in the Public Relations program. Her absolute love for social media makes her the perfect fit for the VP of Chapter Development. Through her three years of involvement with PRSSA, she has worked with Clint Relations and Chapter Development. Last year she was also the blog manager. She plans to bring more relevant blogging ideas to the table as well as get students more involved with social media and blogging.
Tarah Bourke, VP of Client Relations
Tarah Bourke is a junior in the Public Relations program that will be taking on the task of supervising our student run PR firm. Her experience with the Ferris State Torch gives her a hand up with great writing skills, and the ability to work under pressure. As the client relations team transitions into a new set-up, Bourke remains entirely optimistic. She is excited to see where Client Relations goes this year and is ready to take it to new heights.
Amy Bardell, Secretary/Treasurer
Amy Bardell is a senior in the Public Relations program and is eager to take on not just one position, but two positions. By working closely with the E-Board and especially Garbe, Bardell will be able to track fundraising and budget decisions that are made. With her past involvement with PetSavers and Client Relations, Bardell is experienced in how PRSSA works on different levels.
A.J. Petix, President
A.J. Petix, a senior in Public Relations with an Associate’s in Graphic Design will be taking over the prestigious position of President. After joining PRSSA in fall of 2011, Petix became the Treasurer and has worked closely with the E-Boards to help make financial decisions. Although his mind changes frequently (just like most people’s) Petix would love to be the top manager in a PR agency after he graduates. For this upcoming year as a whole, Petix hopes to help things move smoother and without road blocks.
We welcome our new E-Board and are so excited to see where they take this organization this year.
