Interview OOTD

By: Jamie Dion

There are so many outfit options for us ladies for looking business professional, but when going on an interview you want to look professional while adding in maybe a cool piece of jewelry or accessory to make the outfit represent you! Keeping it classy and understated of course! You want the employer to take you seriously (no crazy hair pieces or spikes coming out of your necklace!)

It also depends a lot on where you are interviewing. If you’re interviewing at a world-renowned PR agency your best bet would to bust out the suit or bust out the credit card to get a new one! If you’re interviewing for a job in the fashion industry you have a little more leeway to dress up the outfit with your style and statement pieces.

My most recent internship was for the PR and promotions department of a major Grand Rapids radio company/entertainment agency. So I went with a black pencil skirt, black tights, basic black peep toe pumps, and a colorful blouse. The company is a fun, young, yet professional organization so I mixed in the fun (colorful blouse) with professional (all black on the bottom).

Here are some places you can get this look for your next interview while keeping it inexpensive!

Basic button up blouse. Beautiful color especially with spring coming up! It’s simple and professional, but also has a little flair of style in it with the beaded collar! You can also throw a cardigan or blazer on over it as well! Tuck it into your skirt and you have a great look!
